Our
Journey:
Avalon's Army of Angels
How on Earth does this keep happening?!  My
children insist on getting older, in spite of my
repeated attempts to halt such  progress.  Its
simply revolting how they insist on being allowed
to age!  I must say, I am placing formal
complaints against this.  They just can't grow
up...at least not so stinking fast...

Today was Anam's big 2nd birthday!  My tiny man
is Two and Cute as a Boo.  Unfortunately, he's
also #4 as the kid line-up goes, meaning the
days of mommy planning extravagant shindigs
have long since faded into distant memories.
Since we just arrived home from Williamsburg
yesterday...he's darn lucky we managed to pull
off what we did!

This is where Marnita and Kevin deserve huge
shout outs.  After spending a week being
pestered and potentially "poisoned" by my little
people, they were still willing to come and share
in the birthday festivities.  Are you tired of me
telling you how LUCKY we are to have them yet?
Tough!  I fully plan on saying that for the next 50
years or so.  :-)

We were also joined by Marnita and Kevin's
daughter, Jeannie, her hubby, Travis, and their
bundle of cheeky cuteness, Lucy.  By the way,
Lucy fits squarely into my earlier rant.  Why the
dickens is she allowed to get so big between the
times we get to squeeze her?  Who said that was
OK?

We were also lucky enough to talk Grammo,
Pappo, Aunt Nettie, Uncle Darby, and Papa Joe
into braving a trip to the post-vacation house for
the celebration.  When I say, "braving the trip",
I'm being totally honest.  These are the people
that know me the best.  They are keenly aware of
my lack of expertise in the housekeeping arts.
Knowing we'd just come home from our first
vacation in years, I'm sure they pondered if
they'd even be able to fit through the front
door...much less have anything to eat upon their
arrival.  Fair enough, they had solid reasons to
worry.

Thank you Sam's Club and power shopping
yesterday, we did, indeed, have birthday fare.
We had lots of food, a fun cake, and most
importantly, the people we love to celebrate with.
No royal soiree could have been planned better.

Anam had an incredible time, not quite knowing
what to attack next.  There were matchbox cars
by the handful, cow bowling with sound effects,
and a choo choo train that sung while it rolled.
There was a remote control car, an Elmo chair,
and a competition race track with cars to match.
He giggled, he hollered, he laughed like a hyena
on speed.

I think its safe to say, he had a perfectly
wonderful day!

Cow bowling is a MOO!
Little Miss Lucy and Daddy Travis
I couldn't resist adding these
glimpses of our goofy "Little Man".
He loves pretending to be Daddy.
Of course, he also happens to have a
bit of a sock fetish.  Check out his
changing choices!
